Lunch

The school day is long – students are expected to be at school by 6:30 a.m., and go home after 6 p.m. Lunch is needed, and is only provided for those who can afford it. (Sometimes the Principal gives lunch to students who have not eaten for a couple of days). The lunch of beans and rice, or beans and chapattis is cooked by Maureen, Jack’s wife, supported by two of the student’s mothers.
